Hello, I’m Bret Mattice and I come from the land of 10,000 lakes, the North Star State or as most people like to call it, Minnesota. I called the town of Eden Valley home from the time I was four until I turned 18. Eden Valley is a small town about two hours northwest of Minneapolis almost smackdab in the middle of the state. There I lived out in the country with my parents, Marc and Lori and my younger sister, Sonora. I also have to mention our other family members, there is of course our dog in the yard, our cat in the barn and our horses roaming the pasture that round out the Mattice household.
After I graduated high school I decided to head to South Dakota and ended up dropping anchor in Mitchell at Dakota Wesleyan University. I graduated in three years from Wesleyan and while I was there I received a Bachelor’s of Science in Business Marketing & Communications, played a little basketball and worked a variety of odd jobs. These jobs reached to both ends of the spectrum, from interning with Midwest, to riding on the back of a garbage truck collecting trash. While the garbage man gig was interesting to say the least I am going to make the assumption that sticking with marketing is going to be the better career path for me!
Being in the Black Hills year-round is a dream come true for an outdoor enthusiast like me. When I’m not behind my desk you can find me hunting, fishing and exploring in the hills until the sun tells me it’s time for bed. When I’m not in the outdoors I’m typically playing old-school country music on my Epiphone guitar or watching basketball, hockey or whatever game is on ESPN.
When Dawn asked me to join the team at Midwest Marketing it was an absolute no brainer for me. I couldn’t be more thrilled to work for a company that has a culture and feeling of family and togetherness the way Midwest does. My goal at Midwest is to grow our family tree with other businesses that want to “Become Greater Than,” just like each one of you reading this newsletter right now. I look forward to getting to know everyone that is a member of the Midwest family and I can’t wait to get this ball rolling!
