My favorite local business in Rapid City is Firehouse Brewing Company, along with its next-door establishment, Firehouse Wine Cellars. These two places offer a cool local experience whether you’re a fan of craft beer, locally sourced wine, or just looking for a welcoming atmosphere. Plus in the winter months, they both have great deals. Who doesn’t love a $10 burger or BOGO glasses of wine? Plus, the brewery always has cool themed flights of beer. Both locations frequently host fun events like live music, trivia nights, and seasonal festivals, which add to their vibrant and community-oriented vibe.

The Gyro Hub is always my go to when I am in town. The food is delicious, with bold, authentic Turkish flavors that you can’t find anywhere else in Rapid City. The Mediterranean flavors of the Gyro Hub has something special that keeps me coming back, well maybe it’s Gyro Bowl (option if you don’t do pita bread) with the extra tzatziki or maybe the spice on my chicken… Yeah it’s all of the above. TIP – get the baklava with their Turkish coffee. You’re welcome!

Jen Coleman - Midwest MarketingMy favorite local business is Star Spangled Batter. Not only do they have delicious goodies (personal faves are their German chocolate cupcake and pumpkin cheesecake) but when you visit this family-run business, you can’t help but feel like part of the family, too. They have become a staple in my family as well, with them supplying birthday cakes (the Harry Potter cake they made for my nephew’s 11th birthday was especially epic), holiday pies, and celebration treats over the years. I recommend them to anyone who would like to support a local business while enjoying fresh, tasty baked goods – definitely a win-win!

Tandoor Bocado is my favorite local restaurant, because of the flavorful journey each dish provides to its patrons. Their New American cuisine perfectly blends unique ingredients with global influences—it’s a novel experience you won’t find anywhere else! The menu is both creative and comforting, making each dish an exploration and appreciation of different cultures.

Jenny Borton - Midwest MarketingOne of my favorite local hot spots is the Silver Lining Creamery. Whether it is date night or an action-packed day with the kids, it is conveniently located right in Main Street Square, making it the perfect spot to stop for a nice, cool treat. Inside, the ambiance is clean, yet bright, with a fun sneak-peek through the viewing glass of their workstation, but what I personally love most is enjoying my treat with good company outside on their patio, overlooking the main square to enjoy the view and live entertainment — a great way to enjoy the moment and make memories. Plus, their murals are always fun to snap a photo with!

One of my favorite local spots is Independent Ale House. Between their creative specialty pizzas, rotating craft beer selection, and laid-back atmosphere, it’s the perfect place to grab a bite with friends or wind down after a busy week. It’s a Rapid City gem that always delivers on flavor and vibe!
