November is the season of gratitude, so our team is shining a light on the non-profit organizations that inspire us most. 💚

One of my favorite things that we do at Midwest Marketing is partnering with organizations that make a real impact, like Black Hills Works. They do incredible things for our community by providing opportunities, housing, employment, and creative outlets for adults with disabilities. Our team has had the privilege of helping share their story over the years, and it’s always such a rewarding experience to work with them and celebrate their successes. There are many ways you can support Black Hills Works, whether you’d like to donate, volunteer, or simply help spread the word. Visit their website at www.blackhillsworks.org to learn more!

Feeding South Dakota is one of my favorite non-profits as it helps to fill the crucial need for food for families in our community. Over the years, I’ve volunteered at their center by filling food boxes for distribution, and it’s always a fun way to give to those in need while connecting with other people that care. I’d recommend volunteering to anyone, it’s easy to sign up for shifts at feedingsouthdakota.org and you can choose when and how much you would like to volunteer.

The Humane Society of the Black Hills holds a special place in my heart, because it’s where I found my dog, Captain, when I first moved to the area back in 2019. Their mission to provide shelter, care, and second chances for animals in need truly makes a difference in our community. I also had the privilege of volunteering as a dog walker for a time, which gave me a firsthand look at the compassion and dedication the staff and volunteers pour into every animal. If you’d like to support their work, consider adopting, volunteering, donating supplies, or simply spreading the word about the wonderful pets waiting for their furever homes!

I enjoy reading about the Club for Boys whenever it’s time to work on their quarterly newsletter, and it’s one of my favorite non-profits to work with. For decades, The Club has been making a positive impact on boys in our community through its programs and guidance. My oldest son loves to go when he has a chance, so it’s great to also see that connection through him. Although the average cost for each boy to attend is over $2,300 a year, The Club provides a safe, fun, and caring environment for just a small annual membership fee of $12, so that everyone can attend. The Club offers a variety of volunteer opportunities, fundraiser events, and accepts donations in order to continue to support their mission.

Abbott House is an organization that helps children and families navigate some of the toughest times in their lives. Through foster care, residential treatment, and trauma-informed therapy, Abbott House gives kids the tools and support they need to heal, grow, and build brighter futures. I’ve had the opportunity to work with Abbott House through marketing efforts that help raise awareness and support for their programs. Seeing how their work changes lives is truly inspiring.

If you’d like to get involved, Abbott House is always looking for foster families, volunteers, and donors to help continue their mission. You can learn more or make a contribution at abbotthouse.org.

Growing up, I volunteered at one of my favorite hometown non-profits, Kids Against Hunger. The money from the Kids Against Hunger Thrift Store purchases pays for the ingredients to package food for children in need. I spent many hours packaging the ingredients for the donated meals and feeling like I had made a difference by doing something so simple. You can host a food packaging event or find other ways to donate on their website, www.kidsagainsthunger.org , or simply make a purchase at their store knowing that your money will be going to a great cause.
